I Am Series
Join us once a month to learn about history! Each month there will be a new theme to explore. The Museum runs two sessions per month one in the morning from 10:30 to 11:30 am or 1:00 to 2:00 pm. During this hour we learn about history through games, crafts, stories and activities related to that month’s theme. Registration is required for all I Am Series. Due to COVID-19 we will be limiting the number of participants to 6 per session.
We encourage all to register for these programs early. If the program is full please call 306.634.5543 to be placed on the wait list. If there is enough people on the wait list the Museum may open up a third session. Thank you for understanding.
I Am a Monster (Ages 3-5)
AH! IT’S A MONSTER! This month, children will learn about the history of Halloween and why we go trick-or-treating. During this program we will read a story, have a spooky dance and even create our own MONSTERS! Costumes are encouraged.

No School Day Workshops
No school, no problem! During the school year the Museum host different workshops that promotes learning about history in an engaging way. Due to COVID-19 we will be limiting the number of participants to 6 per session. Parents have the choice of sending their child to the Museum for the morning session (9 am to 12 pm) or the afternoon session (1 pm to 4 pm). We ask that parents please pack a snack, which is nut and peanut-free.
Please note that we will not be providing full-day options this year, this is to ensure the safety of both the participant and staff. This may change through out the school year as restrictions may change. If the session you would like to register is full please call 306.634.5543 to be added to the wait list. Creepy Crawly (Ages 6-10)
What was that? During this program children will have a chance to learn all about creepy crawlies that come out during the night. We will explore different insects, rodents and more!

Little Historians
Come out to the Souris Valley Museum to learn history as a family! For the months of January, February and March come out and learn something new and participate in a fun craft! This program is designed for children ages 2-4. Each session we will be exploring something new. Parent participation is required. To register please contact 306.634.5543.

January 9 - Once Upon A Time...
Today we will be learning about the importance of fairy tales. Come out and listen to a story and participate in a craft!
January 16 - Amazing Animals
Today we will be learning about the amazing animals that work on a farm. Come out and explore the Museum and participate in a farm related craft.
January 23 - Wonderful Saskatchewan
Today we will be learning about the province we call home. Come out for stories and crafts!
January 30 - TRUCKS!
Today we will be learning about trucks found in the Museum. Come out and explore the Museum and participate in a transportation craft.

Young Historical Society
The Museum provides a safe space for children to come to after a busy day of school. The Young Historical Society meets the first and third Tuesday of the school year from 4:00 to 5:00 pm. Each day there will be a different theme to discover. Registration is required.
