ROLE WITHIN ESTEVAN
The Souris Valley Museum strives to achieve excellence in all our programs and activities offered to the community. Through collecting, preserving, researching and exhibiting the object, images, documents and stories of Estevan and area’s past, the Museum cares for the history of the region. By complimenting permanent Museum displays with temporary and mobile displays, educational programming and special events, the Museum endeavours to provide knowledge and opportunities to diverse residents and visitors of all ages and aims to inspire a strong sense of identity and pride for Southeast Saskatchewan’s rich heritage.
ROLE WITHIN THE MUSEUM COMMUNITY
The Souris Valley Museum functions in cooperation with and as a complement to existing museum facilities within the City of Estevan and surrounding communities. The Museum works with other museums and galleries of the region to offer unique exhibits and ensure that each cultural institution can maintain their intentions without conflict. The Museum will also collaborate with other institutions, whenever possible, to offer comprehensive programming and special events to the public.
