I Am Series (Ages 3-5)
Our preschool programs are designed to teach our youngest visitors about history! Step into the shoes of fascinating figures and professions with our “I Am” Programs! Designed for young learners, each session lets kids explore a different role, from historical figures to everyday heroes, by imagining themselves in that role. Through creative activities, storytelling, and hands-on experiences, children will learn about the responsibilities, challenges, and impact of each role. Whether they’re becoming a doctor, a pioneer, or a scientist for the day, these programs inspire curiosity, empathy, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
I Am a Winter Traveler (December 5th, 2025) (1 SPOT LEFT)
Bundle up — we’re heading out on a chilly journey through history! This camp takes children into the snowy past, exploring how people used to travel during the wintertime. From sleigh rides and snowshoes to building shelters and keeping warm, little adventurers will discover the tools and tales of winter journeys.

Fall/Winter Camps (Ages 3-5)
Take a step back in time and learn about history with fun and educational hands-on activities for preschoolers! Our 3-5 Year Old Camps offer a world of fun and discovery tailored just for little ones! Each camp is filled with age-appropriate activities, from playful crafts and games to simple stories and hands-on exploration. Whether they’re exploring nature, art, or early learning history themes, your child will enjoy a day full of joy, learning, and friendship.
Pioneer Holiday Workshop (December 12th, 2025) (FULL)
Step into a cozy pioneer holiday celebration! In this heartwarming camp, children will experience how families long ago got ready for the holidays. With handmade crafts, simple decorations, and old-fashioned games, little ones will discover the joy of giving and creating with their own two hands. This workshop is all about warmth, tradition, and a sprinkle of holiday cheer — the pioneer way!

History Sensory Wednesdays (Ages 6-10)
Experience the past like never before with History Sensory Wednesdays! This unique homeschool program invites children to explore history using all their senses. Each session is designed to bring historical events and cultures to life through touch, taste, smell, sound, and sight. From feeling ancient artifacts to tasting traditional foods, kids will engage in hands-on activities that make history tangible and memorable.
Snow Trackers (December 3rd, 2025) (1 SPOT LEFT)
Step into the snow-covered footsteps of early travelers! In this outdoor-inspired session, kids will learn how people moved across deep winter landscapes using snowshoes. They’ll explore different styles of snowshoes, try out traditional materials, and practice making tracks of their own. With a mix of storytelling, winter games, and sensory play, this session shows how snow-covered travel was both a challenge and an adventure.

Old-Fashioned Ornaments (December 17th, 2025) (1 SPOT LEFT)
Let’s spread holiday cheer the old-fashioned way! In this festive session, children will explore how families in the past decorated their homes for the holidays using what they had on hand. From paper chains to salt dough to natural materials, kids will make charming, meaningful ornaments inspired by traditions of long ago.

School Tours
At Souris Valley Museum, we believe that education should go beyond the walls of a classroom. That’s why we have designed engaging and interactive tours specifically tailored to meet the educational needs of students from all grade levels.
Outreach Programs
The Museum provides in-person and outreach programs for teachers. There is a small fee for in-person and outreach programs. The fee is to cover the cost of supplies for activities.
Customized Programs
