I Am Series (Ages 3-5)
Our preschool programs are designed to teach our youngest visitors about history! Step into the shoes of fascinating figures and professions with our “I Am” Programs! Designed for young learners, each session lets kids explore a different role, from historical figures to everyday heroes, by imagining themselves in that role. Through creative activities, storytelling, and hands-on experiences, children will learn about the responsibilities, challenges, and impact of each role. Whether they’re becoming a doctor, a pioneer, or a scientist for the day, these programs inspire curiosity, empathy, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
I Am a Reindeer (December 6th) (AM FULL | 1 PM SPOT LEFT)
Young adventurers will embark on a journey through history as they discover the world of pioneering through fun activities and games. From nature walks to crafting and storytelling, “Little Pioneers” is where imagination meets exploration for our youngest adventurers.

Fall/Winter Camps (Ages 3-5)
Take a step back in time and learn about history with fun and educational hands-on activities for preschoolers! Our 3-5 Year Old Camps offer a world of fun and discovery tailored just for little ones! Each camp is filled with age-appropriate activities, from playful crafts and games to simple stories and hands-on exploration. Whether they’re exploring nature, art, or early learning history themes, your child will enjoy a day full of joy, learning, and friendship.
Candy Cane Lane (December 20th) (AM FULL | 6 PM SPOTS LEFT)
Step into the sweet world of “Candy Cane Lane!” In this fun-filled session, preschoolers explore the history and magic of candy canes. Through interactive activities and creative play, kids will learn how this festive treat became a holiday favorite and discover the stories behind its shape and flavor. It’s a delightful journey through the traditions of the season, all centered around the joy of candy canes!

No School Day Camps
(Ages 6-10)
No school? No problem! We offer no school day camps! These fun and educational camps give kids the chance to dive into different periods of history through hands-on activities, games, and interactive storytelling. Each camp day focuses on a unique historical theme, allowing kids to explore the past in a fun and engaging way. Join us for an unforgettable journey through time, where learning and fun go hand in hand!

History Sensory Wednesdays (Ages 5-10)
Experience the past like never before with History Sensory Wednesdays! This unique homeschool program invites children to explore history using all their senses. Each session is designed to bring historical events and cultures to life through touch, taste, smell, sound, and sight. From feeling ancient artifacts to tasting traditional foods, kids will engage in hands-on activities that make history tangible and memorable. Join us every Wednesday for an immersive journey through time.

History Hub After School Club (Ages 6-12)
Welcome to History Hub, where history and STEAM come together for exciting after-school adventures! At History Hub, we make the past come alive with interactive activities that blend Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. Each week, kids explore different historical themes through hands-on projects, creative storytelling, and fun challenges. From building ancient structures to experimenting with historical inventions, our club provides a dynamic environment where young learners can uncover the secrets of history while developing crucial STEAM skills.
December 3rd: Inventors' Lab (6 SPOTS LEFT)
Welcome to Inventors’ Lab, where creativity meets innovation! In this hands-on program, kids will channel their inner inventors as they explore the process of designing and building new creations. From brainstorming ideas to experimenting with materials, they’ll learn about famous inventors and their groundbreaking inventions while working on their own projects.

December 17th: Maple Frost (3 SPOTS LEFT)
Step back in time with Maple Frost, where kids can experience the sweet tradition of making maple syrup treats just like the pioneers did! In this hands-on program, children will learn the history of maple sugaring, discover how early settlers tapped trees, and create their own delicious maple treats. Join us to celebrate this timeless tradition and enjoy the flavors of the past!

School Tours
At Souris Valley Museum, we believe that education should go beyond the walls of a classroom. That’s why we have designed engaging and interactive tours specifically tailored to meet the educational needs of students from all grade levels.
Outreach Programs
The Museum provides in-person and outreach programs for teachers. There is a small fee for in-person and outreach programs. The fee is to cover the cost of supplies for activities.
