Learn About Souris Valley Museum's History
The Souris Valley Museum started when Stan Durr wanted to donate his artifacts to the city through the Tourism Committee, who had expressed interest in displaying them as an attraction to the city. With the guidance of the Western Development Museum, the project proceeded with Committee members, Gord McMurtry and Stan Burnard overseeing the building. The building was successfully completed and opened in September 2001.
